Dr. Wasserman is known for many pioneering and visionary contributions to the practice of Surgery Nationally and has personally delivered ground breaking techniques to the community of Bergen County, New Jersey for over 25 years.  Dr. Wasserman also helped pioneer the way for local tumescent anesthesia, which has great advantages allowing patients to be awake during minimally invasive procedures.  In his current practice, since 1994, he does not use general anesthesia, or even an IV.  His patients are fully awake and truly participate in their own care, which is safer, gentler and a less traumatic approach. He has developed the skill and art to feel totally comfortable performing procedures with fully awake patients under local anesthesia. By using the tumescent technique, it insures for less complications and a quicker recovery for the patient.  Dr. Wasserman uses this tumescent technique for his Smart liposuction, which utilizes laser technology by Smartlipo™ and power assisted technology by Micro Aire.  Dr. Wasserman offers the most technologically up-to-date, safe and proven procedures.  He has trained with top surgeons such as Dr. Barry Dibernardo, Dr. Ayman El-Attar, Dr. John Decorado and Dr. Rahda Syed, all of whom have been instrumental in the evolution of SmartLipo™. He is among the very first Cosmetic Surgeons in Bergen County to recognize the spectacular potential of Smartlipo™ and with conviction, purchased one of the first Smartlipo™ units in 2007.
Dr. Wasserman’s cosmetic surgical training is seasoned and diverse. This has included reconstructive surgery following Trauma in addition to advancing the cosmetic evolution in the field over venous disorders (Phlebology).
Smartlipo™ procedures blend naturally with Dr. Wasserman’s passion and compassion.  He is proficient in the three key components of Smart liposuction, which are tumescent anesthesia, laser technology in General, Vascular and Cosmetic Surgery and performing procedures with the “awake” patient.
